Here is the Windows 10 shortcuts list you need to know

When it comes to keyboard shortcuts in Microsoft Windows 7, I admit to being a bit of a novice. I fall back on the menu system or, now that it is available by default in Windows 7, I use the search box located on the Start Menu. But, as the following list shows us, there are definitely opportunities for increased efficiency within the matrix of keyboard shortcuts.

Keyboard shortcuts are keys or combinations of keys that provide an alternative way to do something that you’d typically do with a mouse.

But the Windows 10 was designed with touchscreens in mind, but Microsoft hasn't forgotten more traditional PC users.

Here's a handy list of the most useful keyboard shortcuts for navigating Windows 10. These Windows keyboard shortcuts help you navigate your PC faster, master documents, wrangle various virtual desktops, and shut down and secure a computer, using just a few keys.

Windows /
Ctrl + Esc
Shows the Windows 10 Start Menu
Windows + TabLaunches Windows 10 Task View
Windows + QSearch the web and Windows with Cortana (speech)
Windows + SSearch the web and Windows with Cortana (keyboard input)
Windows + COpens Cortana in listening mode (similar to saying "Hey, Cortana")
Windows + Ctrl + FSearches for PCs on a network
Windows + IOpens Windows 10 settings
Windows + AOpens Windows 10 Action Center / notifications
Windows + VCycle through Notifications
Windows + Shift + VCycle through Notifications in reverse order
Windows + LLocks your Windows 10 device
Windows + DShow or Hide Windows desktop
Windows + Ctrl + DCreates new virtual desktop
Windows + Ctrl + F4Closes current virtual desktop
Windows + Ctrl + [Left][Right]Switch between virtual desktops (to the left, to the right)
Windows + [Left][Right][Up][Down]
Position windows on your screen
E.g. Windows + [Left] moves the current window to the left half of your screen. If you use Windows + [Up] afterwards, the current window will be placed in the upper left quarter of your screen.
And, what’s very handy in my opinion: If you release the Windows key after positioning a window, Task View shows up on the opposite side of the positioned window to select and position another app.
Windows + HShare content (if supported by current app)
Windows + KConnect to wireless displays and audio devices
Windows + XOpens Start button context menu / Power User Menu
Windows + GOpens the Windows 10 Game Bar to take game screenshots and record gaming videos of Windows 10 games (works in any game app, e.g. Microsoft Solitaire Collection)
Windows + EOpens Windows Explorer
Windows + UOpens Ease of Access Center
Windows + OLocks Screen Orientation (Auto Rotation On / Off)
Windows + MMinimizes all opened Windows
Windows + Shift + MRestores all minimized Windows
Windows + HomeMinimizes all windows except the selected or currently active window.
Windows + KOpens the Connect sidebar (for connecting to new Bluetooth devices or Miracast)
Windows + WOpens the Windows Ink Workspace for scribbling on tablets or touchscreen laptops
Windows + PrintTakes a screenshot of the entire desktop and saves it to the Screenshots folder in the Pictures folder
Windows + TCycle through the apps (including pinned apps) on the taskbar
Windows + SpaceSwitch keyboard input language (if you have added at least a second one)
Windows + XOpens Windows Mobility Center
Windows + Shift + [Left][Right]Move current Window from one monitor to another (when using a multiple monitor setup)
Windows + [1][2][3][…]
Open programs that are pinned to task bar
E.g. if first pinned program on your task bar is Windows Explorer (from left to right), the shortcut Windows + 1 opens Windows Explorer for you.
Windows + Alt + [1][2][3][…]
Opens the right-click menu (Context Menu) for the app pinned in the [number] position on the taskbar
Windows + RRun a command
Windows + POpens Project screen
Windows + (+) or (-)Zoom in and out with magnifier
Windows + EscExit magnifier
Alt + TabSwitch to previous window
Alt + SpaceRestore, move, size, minimize, maximize or close current window. Also works like a charm for Windows 10 modern apps
Alt + F4
a) Close current window
b) If you’re on your Windows 10 desktop, open Power dialogue to shut down or restart Windows, put your device in sleep mode, sign out or switch the current user
